Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Zaheer Iqbal in a private civil ceremony at her residence in Mumbai this week.
While the couple looked radiant in their wedding attire, with Sonakshi donning her mother’s white saree, the absence of her brothers Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha raised eyebrows.
In a heartwarming gesture, Sonakshi’s close friend and actor Saqib Saleem stepped in to perform the duties of a brother on her big day. A video circulating on social media shows Sonakshi walking beneath a traditional ‘phoolon ka chaddar’, a canopy of flowers held up by her friends, with Saqib holding one end of the canopy.
When reached for comment, Luv Sinha, who is currently out of Mumbai, said, “Please give it a day or two. I’ll respond to your question then if I feel I can. Thank you for asking.” His response has fueled speculation about a possible rift between the siblings.
Despite the family drama, the wedding was attended by Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, as well as Zaheer’s parents, who gave their blessings to the couple. The couple hosted a star-studded reception on Sunday, which was attended by Bollywood celebrities such as Salman Khan, Kajol, Rekha and Anil Kapoor.
Sonakshi and Zaheer’s love story began seven years ago, and they kept their relationship private until recently. The couple co-starred in the 2022 film Double XL, which also featured Sonakshi’s close friend Huma Qureshi. Huma took to social media to express her joy and gush about their “beautiful, mad passionate love story.”
